Andrew MillsJo Lewis is an award-winning writer, director, and producer. She is currently directing the feature documentary OWEN, produced by Lee Brazier (YESTERDAY), an international co-production supported by TeleFilm Canada and Ontario Creates, with filming taking place across the USA, Canada, and Germany. Jo recently produced the short-animated film GARDENING, funded by the BFI Animation Fund. The film has screened at SXSW London, Hollyshorts LA and Aesthetica FF amongst many other OSCAR and BAFTA qualifying film festivals worldwide. She is attached to direct ECHOLALIC for Erebus Pictures (HOARD, 100 NIGHTS OF HERO), which has been in development with the BFI. She directed the 55min documentary #SUGARWATER, chronicling the first-ever National Theatre performance by a deaf and disabled company, Graeae. Her extensive experience in TV production includes work with Talkback, Endemol, IWC, ITV, and BBC, alongside feature-length documentary co-productions for Discovery Channel. Her production credits also include films by Mike Leigh, Anthony Minghella, Ridley Scott, and Andrea Arnold’s Oscar-winning short film WASP. Jo runs her own production company, Hipster Films, has been a Directors UK Inspire Mentee and is a member of Cinesisters and BAFTA connects.
