Jo lewis

Jo is an award-winning writer, director & producer. She is currently in late post on her feature documentary OWEN and she is directing her first feature film ECHOLALIC for Erebus Pictures, summer 2026. She produced the short animation GARDENING, developed with the BFI and directed the documentary #SUGARWATER following the first ever National Theatre performance by a deaf and disabled company (Graeae). Jo is also attached to direct the Sci Fi MERMAID X produced by Douglas Cox (HOST) and Shadow House Film. As Producer Jo has TV series COLD NIGHT RISES under option with LION TV and has worked in TV production for companies including Talkback, Endemol, IWC, ITV, BBC and feature-length documentary co-productions for Discovery Channel. Her production work includes films by Mike Leigh, Anthony Minghella, Ridley Scott and Andrea Arnold’s OSCAR winning short film WASP. Jo runs her own Production company Hipster Films and was selected as 2021 Directors UK Inspire Mentee.
