Andy and Ryan Tohill

The Tohill Brothers are an award-winning directing duo from Northern Ireland currently helming all 8 episodes of new Paramount+ thriller THE DAY. They directed CASTAWAYS, a five-part thriller for Clapperboard / P+, and ELLIS for Company Pictures/C5, each helming their own episode. Ryan also helmed 2 x 90 of COOPER & FRY for C5 and they co-directed for DALGLIESH Seasons 1 and 2 for New Pictures. In 2018 their first feature THE DIG won Best Irish Feature at Galway before travelling to Toronto, Istanbul and Busan Film Festivals, to name a few. It earned a nomination for the BIFA ‘Discovery Award’ and a ‘Rising Star Award’ at the Irish Film & Television Awards. Their most notable short film EYE LINE won ‘Best New Directors’ at Cornwall Film Festival. Their last short INSULIN premiered at Aesthetica. Ryan has worked in the art department on Game of Thrones, Line of Duty, The Fall and Derry Girls as well as numerous features including Oscar-nominated Philomena. Andrew has worked as an editor on television documentaries and drama. They are in development with / attached to direct feature films in both the U.S. & U.K including THE CONTINUUM (Identity Media) and BEACH BOYS Mr B. Films (UK). Andrew and Ryan have a unique ability to forge a creative, motivated team based on direct experience across departments. They work passionately with performers, aiming to create an environment where artists feel safe to explore and express themselves freely.
